The world's first HOVERBIKE is here! Developers claim it's so simple to fly you don't need any experience before taking to the sky
Footage captures the world's first hoverbike being tested in a warehouse
The quad-copter drone allows riders to navigate as if it were a motorbike
The Scorpion-3 is hoped to be a mainstream mode of transport in the future
This is the amazing footage of the world's first fully-manned hoverbike.
Hoversurf, the manufacturer behind the incredible technology, have built a single-seat aircraft capable of lifting a person in the sky with full passenger control.
The Scorpion-3 merges a standard motorbike design with drone quad-copter technology to allow riders to manoeuvre in the air as if they were riding a bike.
Creators say the Scorpion-3 can carry 19 stone in weight while hitting at speeds of 30 miles per hour and reach an altitude of 33 feet.
It can stay airborne for upto 27 minutes.
The quad-copter is available for a whopping $ 150,000.
An inbuilt safety mechanism limits the maximum speed and altitude of the aircraft in order to prevent accidents.
The video1 begins with the rider, kitted in protective equipment, mounting the hovercraft and starting the rotary engines.
As the propellers pick up speed the aircraft rumbles into life and tilts forward and the rear of the body lifts up.
Hoversurf creators want to provide flight to the hands 'of amateur and professional navigators'.
While it is currently seen as an 'extreme sports' incident it is hoped that the transport will one day realise its full potential and replace cars as the go to mode of transport.
This month, BMW unveiled a prototype flying motorbike concept called the Hover Ride.
The growing trend and developments in the world of drone-technology could lead to a revolution in everyday transportation.
